At the recent Frankfurt Music Fair

Viscount Organs launched Physis their revolutionary new development in pipe organ sound generation. It doesn't use sound samples but instead creates the sound by modeling and reproducing the natural as well as the physical characteristics of organ pipes.

Physis is the culmination of 10 years' research and development by a team of 40 qualified engineers and in 2003 Viscount patented worldwide the physical modeling method of synthesis applied to pipe organ sound.

This is a major step forward in the evolution of the digital organ as the current concept applied for digital organ sound generation has not changed significantly since the early 90's. Also the hardware architectures used were developed more than a decade ago.

Viscount recognised this and strongly believe that much more can be done, improved and delivered in terms of benefit for both musician and audience.

Physis organs are powered by LINUX which has a lot of benefits in terms of connectivity and integration with the personal computer world. LINUX supports the whole USB world, ethernet connection, IP protocol (Internet) and many other protocols and hardware peripherals.

We are currently planning a major advertising campaign for 2009 including a number of Open Days at our Showroom in Bicester and at other venues throughout the UK. We are also sponsoring a series of 8 recitals with a well-known celebrity organist.
