THE NEW PHYSIS RANGE HAS ARRIVED AT THE BICESTER SHOWROOM COME AND SEE THE NEW CL-2, CL-4,CL6 MODELS
Custom Built Regent Classic Organs Over the past year we have continued to be extremely busy not just with sales of the standard Prestige and Vivace instruments but also with our custom-built Regent Classic organs. These instruments have motorised drawstops, comprehensive external speaker systems, wooden-based keyboards and other high quality features. This area of the business was first launched in 2006 when we took over the ‘old’ Viscount Company and has expanded rapidly due to the high quality of sound, the flexibility of design, and the excellent value-for-money we offer when compared to other organ builders. Top of Page >Our list of installations has grown rapidly over the past 3 years and is shown else where on this website. It doesn’t however include our organ sales to private homes, which account for a large proportion of our business. A few of the highlights from 2008 which demonstrate how flexible the new Viscount technology is, include: 3-Manual Prestige 100 DL for Bromsgrove School Chapel with 18 independent audio channels. The organ has a total of 69 speaking stops, which includes an independent Nave division of 12 speaking stops. 2-Manual Prestige 50 for St. Andrew’s RC Church, Tenterden. The organ suits this small building perfectly and there are a couple of smaller external speakers located halfway down the church from the gallery where the console is positioned. This provides a constant level of sound throughout the building. 3-Manual Regent Classic built in a compact drawstop console with 35 speaking stops for St. Saviour’s Parish Church, Warwick Avenue, Little Venice, London The external speaker system consists of 9 independent audio channels. 3-Manual, 57-stop Regent Classic for the Cathedral of Our Lady and St. Thomas, Northampton, which includes an independent 10-stop Sanctuary division. This is a large building and the main organ is located in the Choir gallery at the back. We offered this as a solution instead of simply duplicating speakers in the Sanctuary area. This gives a far better musical result and demonstrates how customisable and flexible the Viscount speaker system can be. 3-Manual Prestige 80 with 57 speaking stops for St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, New Malden. The specification also includes an independent Sanctuary division of 10 stops playable over two manuals and pedals. 3-Manual Prestige Organ with 41 speaking stops for the Parish Church of St. John the Baptist, Barlaston, Stoke-on-Trent. The organ was built into the existing drawstop console, and also includes an independent 10-stop organ for the Lady Chapel. 3-Manual, 57-stop Regent Classic for the Metropolitan Tabernacle, ‘Spurgeon’s Tabernacle’, Elephant and Castle, London, SE1. The external speaker system is located in a purpose-built chamber high up at the front of the large 1000-seater worship area. It comprises of 12 independent audio channels plus two dedicated bass speaker cabinets of 500 watts each. 2-Manual Prestige 40 with 31 speaking stops for St. Edward the Confessor RC Church, Chandlers Ford. The external speaker system is located in the gallery opposite the console. 3-Manual, 56-stop Regent Classic for Llandaff Cathedral, Cardiff. This will be the main organ used in the building for the next 14 months until the new 4-manual pipe organ has been installed. The temporary installation comprises of 18 independent audio channels and speakers. Top of Page >As you will see from the current Viscount Organs advert, our new Physis technology has just been launched and we are sponsoring a series of concerts with the highly acclaimed American organist, Carlo Curley. In preparation for this we will soon be installing a new 56-stop Physis organ in the main Bicester showroom. This instrument will include some revolutionary new improvements to the speaker system, which makes the sound even more realistic. New 30-note radiating concave pedalboard A new radiating concave pedalboard is now available for the Vivace 40, 50 and Prestige 20 models. Sales of these instruments have increased considerably as customers can now have a standard pedalboard without having to pay more for a larger console. Why didn't we do this years ago !
